Priest Daniel Sysoev - Job 12

1Then Job answered:

2“Truly then you are the people

with whom wisdom itself will die!

3But I also have a mind;

I am not inferior to you.

Who does not know such things as these?

4I am a laughingstock to my friends,

though I called on God, and He answered.

The righteous and upright man is a laughingstock.

5The one at ease scorns misfortune

as the fate of those whose feet are slipping.

6The tents of robbers are safe,

and those who provoke God are secure—

those who carry their god in their hands.a

Job says that you consider yourself the wise men in the universe. You haven't discovered anything new for me. Job says, friends, you must understand that a terrible tragedy is taking place here, and you begin to teach me and offer things that I already know.

A torch is needed to walk the trails at night. You are satisfied, everything is logical and clear with you. I need a torch to find my way to God who has forgotten me. And what I see: 6 The tents of the robbers are quiet and safe with those who irritate God, who, as it were, carry God in their hands. They believe that God will not look at them. This is the truth that Job saw, which even now surprises and outrages people. False conclusions are drawn from this that God does not control anything. Job says it is not.

7But ask the animals, and they will instruct you;

ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you.

8Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you;

let the fish of the sea inform you.

9Which of all these does not know

that the hand of the LORD has done this?

We see how animals, cattle, are arranged in the most complicated way, that birds sing to God and they themselves are absolutely amazing, but how can a bird of paradise look like? There are many types of them and each is unusual, each obtained by natural selection. Likewise, the Earth is placed on the ideal side of the Sun, the Earth is specially selected for life, everything is there, a calculated climate is taking place, which is constantly changing.

10The life of every living thing is in His hand,

as well as the breath of all mankind.

The hand of God holds the spirit of all living. What is the soul? The soul is a desire and strength that is in all living beings, from animals to humans. Insects were created on the fifth day of Creation. In His hand is the soul of all living, God holds all living beings. He gives them life at the moment, without this you and I would not exist. We also have an animal soul, right? And she, too, goes into the ground, she is in our blood. It is usually associated with our spirit, but this is how it goes into the ground. And the spirit of every human flesh, God not only holds everyone living, but in his hands holds everything, every spirit.

What is spirit? The spirit is the highest part of the human soul, the mind that manifests feelings, that death experiences us. And this, too, is in God's hand. Each person exists because the hand of God exists. And it is for this reason that you and I asked the question: is the human soul immortal by nature or by grace? Grace. That is, can a human soul die? Maybe if God wants it. You see, in this sense, and therefore she does not die, she is in the hands of God. The human spirit never dies, that is, it never disappears, it can die, but it does not disappear. He set a boundary for a person, and he supports them.

11Does not the ear test words

as the tongue tastes its food?

12Wisdom is found with the elderly,

and understanding comes with long life.

13Wisdom and strength belong to God;

counsel and understanding are His.

14What He tears down cannot be rebuilt;

the man He imprisons cannot be released.

That is, you say the words, to hammer the authority at the same time, but does not the ear make out the word. Our hearing can be known. We cannot cover everything with the authority of the past. It is interesting when the church fathers talk about the teachings of God, they do not just say that it is said so, but say: "Why, as justified, show the logic, the meaning ...". They know that every person must accept the Revelation of God not just as something like a ballast of knowledge, he must comprehend and accept everything with his heart. Job says quite rightly that our mind must control and control itself. The source of reason is not the past generation, but in whom? In God, the wisdom of power, his advice and reason. He has full wisdom and strength and it is to him that you need to turn to explain everything, and not just to future generations.

14What He tears down cannot be rebuilt;

the man He imprisons cannot be released.

15If He holds back the waters, they dry up,

and if He releases them, they overwhelm the land.

16True wisdom and power belong to Him.

The deceived and the deceiver are His.

God is the sovereign ruler of the universe. He destroys, and no one can resist, if he confronts someone, then you will never get out of His hands, He can stop the waters, lower and turn the earth (Noah's flood), He has power and wisdom, deluded before Him and misleading. That is, one and the other person is in his hands, he himself is mistaken, and the one who falls into and leads another person into error, he and the other exist in His hands. Here the question of justice arises: why such lawlessness exists and cannot be explained by the fact that God has no truth. There is lawlessness, and one cannot say that God does not rule the world, He rules, but how this is resolved is a question.

17He leads counselors away barefoot

and makes fools of judges.

18He loosens the bonds placed by kings

and fastens a belt around their waists.

19He leads priests away barefoot

and overthrows the established.

It is God who destroys states. Well, if the advisers are stupid, they cannot do anything, the judges are stupid, if the king is afraid to use force.

20He deprives the trusted of speech

and takes away the discernment of elders.

21He pours out contempt on nobles

and disarms the mighty.

It turns out that disintegration occurs from His hand and leads to the death of the entire state. We know that this is indeed the case. God rejects and makes stupid those people or those nations who oppose Him. That is why here they ask Him, it is in Him that the source is when He destroys the given state. Job says there is a moment like this:

22He reveals the deep things of darkness

and brings deep shadows into light.

23He makes nations great and destroys them;

He enlarges nations, then disperses them.

24He deprives the earth’s leaders of reason

and makes them wander in a trackless wasteland.

25They grope in the darkness without light;

        He makes them stagger like drunkards.
