Priest Daniel Sysoev - Job 10

 Job says (ch. 10):

1“I loathe my own life;

I will express my complaint

and speak in the bitterness of my soul.

2I will say to God:

Do not condemn me!

Let me know why You prosecute me.

3Does it please You to oppress me,

to reject the work of Your hands

and favor the schemes of the wicked?

4Do You have eyes of flesh?

Do You see as man sees?

5Are Your days like those of a mortal,

or Your years like those of a man,

6that You should seek my iniquity

and search out my sin—

7though You know that I am not guilty,

and there is no deliverance from Your hand?

Job does not want wickedness, he wants rational piety, to know God, to see Him, but he turned out to be closed from God. God turned away from Him, although he did no evil. Job is harder than the martyrs, why? the martyrs were with God, so they did not feel pain, rejoiced. This is the strongest desire for Holiness.

From Job's point of view, it is the friends who will turn out to be wicked people. Then he asks God to turn to him himself:

8Your hands shaped me and altogether formed me.

Would You now turn and destroy me?

9Please remember that You molded me like clay.

Would You now return me to dust?

10Did You not pour me out like milk,

and curdle me like cheese?

11You clothed me with skin and flesh,

and knit me together with bones and sinews.

12You have granted me life and loving devotion,a

and Your care has preserved my spirit.

13Yet You concealed these things in Your heart,

and I know that this was in Your mind:

14If I sinned, You would take note,

and would not acquit me of my iniquity.

15If I am guilty, woe to me!

And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift my head.

I am full of shame

and aware of my affliction.

16Should I hold my head high,

You would hunt me like a lion,

and again display Your power against me.

17You produce new witnesses against me

and multiply Your anger toward me. Hardships assault me

in wave after wave.

God says that you are not acting logical, you made me like that, you made me. The man is made very beautifully. "You worked on me ... why are you destroying me, why are you destroying ...?"

18Why then did You bring me from the womb?

Oh, that I had died, and no eye had seen me!

19If only I had never come to be,

but had been carried from the womb to the grave.

20Are my days not few?

Withdraw from me, that I may have a little comfort,

21before I go—never to return—

to a land of darkness and gloom,

22to a land of utter darkness,

of deep shadow and disorder,

where even the light is like darkness.”

There is simply no way out, you give me a break now, because nothing good awaits me further in this life. I'm going to hell like everyone else. And while he is waiting, looking for answers, looking for God. This is a manifestation of the greatest courage that will make him like Christ that we read him on Good Friday. The Lord went to the end the way that Job began to walk, and he finished, he reached the very gates of death.

What is the answer why such evil reigns in this world? Why did the righteous man move death? The righteous will receive more than the sinner. Is it clear why? His gaze is unspoiled by prejudices, he sees and tries to look at the world with real eyes. Moreover, he is not attached to this world, he can sink deeper, he can see the most terrible thing that lurks. Intelligent beings have more powers than the material universe in the whole.

The fact is that the will of man and the will of the angel can destroy the entire material universe. In the end, the material universe will burn out because of intelligent beings, you know? When people are optimistic, they are really just skeptics. To say that through a person death entered the world, then we do not understand what it means "death entered the world"?

Indeed, a huge, terrible force, it is based on the will of people who did not give power over the world. It is necessary to see how a person is a huge being, such a huge will that is given to us. Remember, we said that before the Annunciation there was one abyss of freedom - downward, remember? Job went a little, tried to overcome, but Christ reached the bottom. Submission to God is not just an act. Who is more free? Job or his friends? Job! He is bolder than friends. He tries not to fight against God. And this is important, true freedom lies in the fact that a person walks, and in fact can overcome these dark abysses that were in this world. Therefore, the Lord, using the example of Job, shows that the Holiness of Christianity on the body of courage, which we must lead to victory, then a person trusts God reasonably, and does not agree with the statement that "I am a small person and I do not need to go anywhere."
